In 1979, a family-owned jewelry house in California made a decision that would define a category: they chose braided stainless steel. Not as a compromise — as the material. Because fine jewelry doesn't have to be fragile. Because steel takes color at a depth that enamel cannot reach. Because the tension in a well-made braid is something you feel on the wrist, and feeling is the point. That decision, made four decades ago, is still the decision being made today.
A Braid Holds What A Single Strand Cannot
Every braid is stainless steel. Every diamond is conflict-free. The gold is 14k. The process is our own. We are a family-owned house. We make jewelry to be worn every day. In the shower. On the court. At the table. The kind of jewelry that doesn't require care — it requires only choosing.
We're not the loudest brand in fine jewelry. We don't need to be. The wrist does the talking.
The Colors Are Ours
Colored cable jewelry did not exist before ALOR. We changed that, by bringing Physical Vapour Deposition into fine jewelry — an industrial process that bonds pigment to metal at a molecular level. Not onto the steel. Into it. The result is color that is part of the material, not applied to it. Countless color combinations that do not chip or fade, and are unique to ALOR.
